Wedding Day — Processional, for string quartet
Wedding Day – Processional for String Quartet is very suitable for religious services and special occasions, especially as the processional at the beginning of a wedding ceremony when the wedding party and the bride walk down the aisle. Pace of the music is perfect for a calm, unhurried walk.
Wedding Day – Processional for String Quartet makes use of several drones, similar to sustained pedal tones on a church organ. The melodic material begins in the second violin, with cello playing countermelody. Next the first and second violins combine in duet in the second register. Viola joins the violin duet, followed later by the cello. The expression markings during the piece [“Calm and optimistic”, “Delicate”, “Radiant”, “Intimate”, and “Joyful”] are meant to reflect sentiments of the wedding party during this special time.
